Many of you who have subscribed to helmetandpadsrequired.com or are avid readers of Yardbarker.com most likely came across my article yesterday that broke the news that the pictures of the Nike NFL uniform sketches were fakes.
Although despite Nike’s claims, as one commenter on my article mentioned yesterday, the pictures look very similar to what Nike uses for their “Pro Combat” line. These pics could very well be a prototype of what the jerseys will look like and someone leaked the pics.
Kind of like the dude who worked for Apple and had left his iPhone 4 at a restaurant months before the actual phone came out.
Apple tried to cover their tracks by saying that the phone that was lost was not a prototype of an iPhone 4 when indeed we found out months later that it was.
So I figured since I have all of these pics of supposedly fake Nike NFL uniforms I might as well rank them and let you guys chime in on the rankings and/or give me your thoughts on this whole Nike fake pics fiasco.
The So Fresh and So Clean, Clean, the Funky, the Okay, the Bad, and the Ugly:

The Ugly –
33. Kansas City Chiefs 1 – Ummm, let me see, ummm……. Yeah they should fire the dude who sketched this. In fact the dude who sketched this probably did get fired and he is the one who leaked these pics.
32. Cincinnati Bengals – These uniforms will make an already bad team look bad while playing bad. I do like the helmet, but those kitty cat camouflage pants are a no-no.
31. Jacksonville Jaguars – Really? Is this how it will be going down every Sunday in Los Angeles, err I mean in Jacksonville? Leopard print doesn’t look good on a hot chick (Shania Twain pulled it off though) and it for sure doesn’t look good on a football player. And what’s that on the helmet?
30. Minnesota Vikings – Okay, are these the new uniforms for the Minnesota Vikings or the LSU Tigers? They aren’t too bad, however they need to get rid of the horns on the sleeves of the yellow Dri-fit shirt.
29. Kansas City Chiefs 2 – Too plain and cheesy looking. They look like the uniforms of one of the teams that the Sharks played against in that movie Any Given Sunday. Like the Bengals uniforms, the helmets are do-able.
The Bad –
28. Arizona Cardinals – Nacho Libre? This looks like something you would see one of those Mexican wrestlers wear in the ring. There is potential though.
27. Pittsburgh Steelers – Someone tried to get cute with the Steelers uniforms. No need to get cute with a classic uni. And how are you going to have two different types of yellow in a uniform?
26. Philadelphia Eagles – Overall a nice uniform but anything with feathers on it is a no-no. Leave the feathers to the Oregon Ducks.
The Okay -
25. New York Giants – So the Boise State Broncos are getting new, oh wait, these are the New York Giants new uniforms. Yeah these uniforms are okay but they look too much like Boise State’s uniforms.
24. Chicago Bears – These uniforms are actually nice, however they get put in the okay category for not having the Chicago “C” on the helmet. There are certain teams that you don’t overdo change or get rid of certain things on their uniforms, and the Bears are one of those teams.
23. Indianapolis Colts 1 – Nice but they are missing something. Nike needs to rethink the horse shoes on the knees.
22. Detroit Lions – There seems to not be too much different with these uniforms except for the pants which are marginally okay.
21. Seattle Seahawks – Plain Jane uniforms, the current ones may be better than these.
20. New Orleans Saints – Once again another plain Jane uniform.
19. Washington Redskins – Looks like Nike didn’t even try with the Redskins uniforms. They decided to use the Redskins practice jersey’s and call them the new uniforms. I am surprised they didn’t put a bunch of feathers on the shoulders and helmet like they did with the Chiefs uniforms.
18. Indianapolis Colts 2 – Different shaped numbers but other than that same Colts uniforms.
17. Cleveland Browns – Same uniforms except for the arms. Nice clean look to them.
The Funky -
16. San Diego Chargers – I don’t like the bolts next to each other on top of the helmet. The “Chargers” name tag on the chest needs to have a different font other than that 1950’s look. I am not feeling the yellow pants either.
15. Miami Dolphins – Hmmmmm, with me being a Dade County tax payer I hope my money won’t be going into this creation of this in any way possible because I can’t completely co-sign on this. They aren’t bad, just funky. Very Miami.
14. New England Patriots – Looks like something that Marvel Comics would design, however I do think there is great potential for them. I like the concept and from what I can see of the helmet I love it. They just need to get rid of either the stars or the stripes. Can’t do both.
The So Fresh and So Clean, Clean -
13. Tennessee Titans – I like the sleek, futuristic look of these uniforms.
12. Carolina Panthers – In the Panthers home state of North Carolina, NASCAR is very big and you can see touches of NASCAR in this uniform.
11. Buffalo Bills – I like how they mixed in a little bit of the old school Bills uniforms with the new ones. I am not big of the fat buffalo on the chest though.
10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – One again, I like the mixture of new and old in these uniforms.
9. Baltimore Ravens – The Baltimore Ravens are one of those teams where it will be weird to see them in something other than their current basic designed uniforms of purple and black. These are a nice new look for them.
8. San Francisco 49ers – Nice twist to a classic uniform. They didn’t over do it.
7. Atlanta Falcons – They look the same as the current uniforms, but if you look closely they are a nice, edgy updated version of the current threads. Very well done.
6. Dallas Cowboys – Another great twist/updated look for a classic uniform.
5. Denver Broncos – Broncos fans have been dying for the home orange uniforms to come back full-time. Looks like Nike has granted their wish.
4. Houston Texans – When the city of Houston was awarded the 32nd NFL franchise, the helmet that was always used to represent the Texans was a white helmet with the Texans logo on it. When the official uniforms and helmets came out, they were blue. I am wondering if this is what the uniforms would have looked like if they would have stayed with the white helmet.
3. New York Jets – Good look for the Jets uniforms. I don’t like the old logo on the helmet though.
2. Oakland Raiders – I am not a Raiders fan but I am really feeling these uniforms. Very nice.
1. St. Louis Rams – Perfect! Out of all of the sketches that I have seen this is the best one of them all. Just like a few of the uniforms in my top 12. There is a nice mix of the old school and new school with these uniforms. I love that they brought back the old blue and white helmets.

aw some of these uniform look good but most of them look like shit .
Now I feel that it is just un-american to take the C back off of the Chicago Bears helmet, leave Chicago alone

jets shouldnt have black, thats not them. denver cant have that old looking logo i think that logo is so ugly. and the giants need to stay all blue but have the white (not grey) pants, also the giants should have white and blue awat jerseys not white and red
the first colts one. the horseshoes on the knees is one of the better parts i think becauze no one else has something like that.
The Broncos should never change the new logo. New logo 2 Championships. I love the white helmet would look bad ass. Orange top and orange bottom mixed with blue would look sweet.

I feel like most of the uniforms are great but i do agree that the saints uniform is to plain and i also agree on the subject that the bengals pants would make them look like total dbags
No, no, no…the 49ers uniform is terrible. The niners cannot have red helmets, they should be gold. If they want to change things up they can go with white, but not red! The yellow looking gold numbers are off-putting and the white pants resemble practice pants way too much. The actual uni's cannot even come close to resembling these; for the niners at least.
They effed up the Dolphins royally. No thanks.
While i agree about your comments on the uniform, I dont see how you can call a young bengals team that finished with an over .500 record, and in the playoffs, in one of the hardest divisions in the NFL last year a bad team.
Ummm, I guess you didnt notice the date on this article? Its over a year old. So at the time of writing this they were a bad team. Now they are just a okay team.

The Falcons uni's look sweet. Much much better than the current.
Too many "new" black helmets for teams. The Raiders sketch uniform would be better with the classic helmet look (from the 60's and 70's), and the bright silver on the uniforms, not the dull gray that we see today. The majority look like failed college uniforms. Let's hope we never see those.
I REALLY HOPE THEY DO A MAKEOVER LIKE THIS. THE VIKES NEED A COUPLE MORE TWISTS. NOT LESS. THE HORNS ON THE PIPES ARE TIIIGHT!!!
