CBS Changes Mind, Will Not Run NFLPA Ad

Last week the NFLPA released a 60 second commercial called “Let us Play” which was aimed at sending fans to www.nfllockout.com to sign a petition.

According to the NFLPA the ads were set to appear in a 30 second format during the NFLPA All-Star game February 5th, the day before the Super Bowl.

However for some odd reason, CBS has now decided not to run the ad.

NFLPA’s assistant executive director of external affairs, George Atallah, said that what CBS is doing is a clear indication of how strong the relationship is between the networks and the league.

CBS pays $4 billion a year for TV rights for the NFL.

There is an old saying that says “You don’t tap the hand that feeds you.” It seems as if CBS is following that saying to a “T”.

If you haven’t seen the commercial here it is in its entirety.

You may not like what I have to say or may think I am borderline clueless at times with my Skip Bayless like comments. But like Skip, usually what I say comes true or almost does.

I am a realist and the truth hurts sometimes. Unlike most people, I am able to analyze the game of football and each position that a player plays from a logical, technical, and analytical point of view rather than from a biased fan's point of view.
